WINTER TERM 2026
Lectures in Eck en Wiel
Every two weeks we have a new lecture in Eck en Wiel. You are welcome to come for the weekend, starting at Friday night with a lecture usually connected with the theme of Saturday, continuing with a movie discussion on Saturday night and finishing with service on Sunday morning. The whole weekend has a cost of 50 euro p.p. (all inclusive: meals, room and participation in the program). But you can also just come for the saturday lecture, at 11:00, which is free! If you want to stay for lunch, at 13:00, there is a cost of 5 euro p.p. Check the dates and lectures and subscribe to participate through our contact page. The lectures are sometimes in English and sometimes in Dutch, but we can always provide translation, in both languages.

*When you come for the lecture weekend, for 1 or 2 nights only, we kindly ask that you bring sheets for your stay.

Loss and Hope.
On our film weekends we watch and discuss 3 films together on Saturday, with an opening lecture Friday evening and a chapel service on Sunday morning. This time we will watch and discuss: ‘Train Dreams’ (Clint Bentley, 2025), ‘Hamnet’ (Chloé Zhao, 2025), en ‘Short Term 12’ (D. D. Creton, 2013). In all three films the main characters are confronted with a loss... and the question is: how can they move on? Are their lives forever scarred? Can they find hope again, for something beautiful or new, without denying the pain and letting go? In their longings we get a picture of how we are built as human beings: what does a biblical view of a person say about it?
This weekend costs 50 euros, all included. But please remember to bring your own bedsheets!

THE DAILY SCHEDULE IN OUR COMMUNITY:
At L'abri Eck en Wiel we provide a structure for the day, with time in community and also individual. Below you can see the rough schedule - which sometimes can be flexible as well. In yellow we highlight the different activities with content or in community.
Oh, and we can't forget the Tea Break! Every day, at 11 a.m., 16:30 p.m. and 20 p.m. we gather around tea and coffee pots to share our day, thoughts and lifes.
